Description

A vibrant combination of spicy shrimp and fresh toppings tucked inside warm tortillas, delivering a delightful flavor explosion.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 2 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup carrots, shredded
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 avocado, mashed
  • Cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the shrimp: In a bowl, mix olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and a good pinch of salt and pepper. Add shrimp, ensuring they are well coated, and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the slaw: In a separate bowl, combine cabbage, shredded carrots, mayonnaise, and lime juice. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Make the avocado crema: In another bowl, mash avocado with a squeeze of lime juice and a pinch of salt.
  4. Warm the tortillas: Heat tortillas in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds to 1 minute on each side until warm and pliable.
  5. Cook the shrimp: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the marinated shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until pink and opaque.
  6. Assemble the tacos: Take a warm tortilla, layer it with slaw, followed by the cooked shrimp. Top with avocado crema and cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately while fresh and warm.

Notes

Best served warm with lime wedges and crispy tortilla chips or black beans. Can customize toppings for personal preference.
