Description
A creamy, cheesy dish with a crunchy topping, perfect for family dinners or potlucks.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 3 cups milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Bread crumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, about 6-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute until it’s bubbling but not browned.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and continue to stir for 3-5 minutes until the mixture is smooth and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, mixing well to incorporate the flavors.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella, feta, and Parmesan. Mix until everything is melted and creamy.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, mixing thoroughly to coat each piece evenly.
- Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish, smoothing the top.
- If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for an added crunchy texture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving to enhance the flavors.
Notes
