Description

A creamy, cheesy dish with a crunchy topping, perfect for family dinners or potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Bread crumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, about 6-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute until it’s bubbling but not browned.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk and continue to stir for 3-5 minutes until the mixture is smooth and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  5. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, mixing well to incorporate the flavors.
  6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella, feta, and Parmesan. Mix until everything is melted and creamy.
  7. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, mixing thoroughly to coat each piece evenly.
  8. Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish, smoothing the top.
  9. If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for an added crunchy texture.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving to enhance the flavors.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of hot sauce or smoked paprika. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
