A hearty twist on the classic sandwich, combining the rich flavors of Philly cheesesteak with the comfort of a sloppy joe.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and green bell pepper; sauté until soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic; cook for an additional minute.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart; cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to taste.
- If necessary, drain excess fat from the skillet.
- Top with shredded provolone cheese, then cover and let melt for about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve the beef mixture on hamburger buns.
Notes
Serve hot and garnish with parsley or pepper. Pairs well with fries, coleslaw, or salad.
