Description

A hearty twist on the classic sandwich, combining the rich flavors of Philly cheesesteak with the comfort of a sloppy joe.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper; sauté until soft, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic; cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart; cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. If necessary, drain excess fat from the skillet.
  7. Top with shredded provolone cheese, then cover and let melt for about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Serve the beef mixture on hamburger buns.

Notes

Serve hot and garnish with parsley or pepper. Pairs well with fries, coleslaw, or salad.
