Description

A creamy, comforting one-pan dish featuring savory chicken sausage, tender orzo, and crisp broccoli, all enveloped in a rich, cheesy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 chicken sausages, sliced
  • 2 cups steamed broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes until shimmering.
  2. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
  4. Pour in the orzo pasta and chicken broth. Season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender.
  6. Fold in the steamed broccoli and grated parmesan cheese. Stir gently until well combined and creamy.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with additional parmesan if desired.

Notes

For a creamier dish, add more broth or a splash of heavy cream at the end. Consider using a high-quality chicken broth to enhance flavor.
