Ingredients
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 chicken sausages, sliced
- 2 cups steamed broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes until shimmering.
- Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
- Pour in the orzo pasta and chicken broth. Season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender.
- Fold in the steamed broccoli and grated parmesan cheese. Stir gently until well combined and creamy.
- Serve warm, garnished with additional parmesan if desired.
Notes
For a creamier dish, add more broth or a splash of heavy cream at the end. Consider using a high-quality chicken broth to enhance flavor.
