Description

A delightful and healthy take on orange chicken, capturing the tangy sweetness with fresh ingredients for an irresistible flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the fresh orange juice, soy sauce, honey, and minced garlic until well combined.
  2. In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a smooth slurry.
  3. Heat about 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Allow it to heat for about a minute.
  4. Add the diced chicken to the pan, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until the chicken is browned, stirring occasionally, for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Pour the orange sauce over the browned chicken and continue to cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to start bubbling at the edges.
  6. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another minute, or until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency. It should coat the back of a spoon.
  7. Once thickened, remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions for an added pop of color and flavor.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating chicken in the sauce ahead of time.
