Ingredients
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 Italian sausages, casings removed
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the Italian sausages and cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking them apart until browned.
- Introduce the minced garlic to the pot and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the orzo and chicken broth, seasoning with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- Cover the pot and allow it to simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is tender.
- Remove from heat and fold in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan, stirring until creamy.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving warm.
Notes
For added flavor, use homemade chicken broth. Stir the orzo occasionally to prevent sticking.
