Description

A comforting one-pot creamy orzo pasta infused with Italian sausage and garlic, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 Italian sausages, casings removed
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the Italian sausages and cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking them apart until browned.
  2. Introduce the minced garlic to the pot and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the orzo and chicken broth, seasoning with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  4. Cover the pot and allow it to simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is tender.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan, stirring until creamy.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving warm.

Notes

For added flavor, use homemade chicken broth. Stir the orzo occasionally to prevent sticking.
