Description
A timeless recipe for classic deviled eggs that are creamy, tangy, and perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Paprika for garnish
Instructions
- Place the eggs in a pot of cold water. Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let them simmer for 10-12 minutes.
- Carefully remove them from the hot water and place them in an ice bath to halt the cooking process. Allow them to cool for about 5 minutes.
- Once cooled, gently peel the eggs under cool running water, which helps remove the shells more easily. Cut each egg in half lengthwise.
- Carefully pop out the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until you achieve a smooth and even mixture.
- Either spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollowed egg whites, making sure to be generous.
- Dust the top of each filled egg with paprika for an appealing finish. Arrange them on a serving platter and enjoy!
Notes
Classic deviled eggs are best served chilled. They can be garnished with extra paprika or fresh herbs like chives or parsley.
