Description

A timeless recipe for classic deviled eggs that are creamy, tangy, and perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs in a pot of cold water. Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let them simmer for 10-12 minutes.
  2. Carefully remove them from the hot water and place them in an ice bath to halt the cooking process. Allow them to cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. Once cooled, gently peel the eggs under cool running water, which helps remove the shells more easily. Cut each egg in half lengthwise.
  4. Carefully pop out the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
  5. Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until you achieve a smooth and even mixture.
  6. Either spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollowed egg whites, making sure to be generous.
  7. Dust the top of each filled egg with paprika for an appealing finish. Arrange them on a serving platter and enjoy!

Notes

Classic deviled eggs are best served chilled. They can be garnished with extra paprika or fresh herbs like chives or parsley.
