Ingredients
- 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2-3 medium potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
- 500 grams lean beef mince
- Lettuce (shredded)
- Cheese (dairy-free or regular)
- Pickle slices
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon mustard (Dijon or yellow)
- 1 teaspoon pickle juice (from the jar of pickles)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
- Mix together the spice mix ingredients (smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper) in a small bowl. Set it aside.
- Wash and cut the potatoes into chips. Pat them dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and half of the spice mix to a large mixing bowl with the chips, and toss well to coat.
- Arrange the seasoned potato chips in a single layer on a baking tray. Cook in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30-40 minutes, turning halfway, or in an air fryer for about 20 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the beef mince, breaking it apart, and brown for about 5-7 minutes. Stir in the remaining spice mix and cook until the meat darkens and excess moisture evaporates (about 3-4 minutes).
- Combine the burger sauce ingredients (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika) in a small bowl and whisk until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Divide the cooked potato chips among your bowls. Fill with shredded lettuce, then top with beef mince, cheese, and pickles, and drizzle the burger sauce generously over the top.
Notes
Serve hot and consider garnishing with fresh herbs or extra pickles for a pop of color.
