Description

A quick and delicious recipe for seared boneless pork chops, glazed with honey and garlic.

Ingredients

  • 15 oz (425g) center cut boneless pork chops (3 pork chops)
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped Italian parsley (for garnishing)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pork Chops: Season both sides of the pork chops generously with salt and ground black pepper. Set aside for a few minutes to allow the seasoning to penetrate the meat.
  2. Mix the Honey Sauce: In a bowl, combine honey, warm water, 1/4 teaspoon salt, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper. Whisk thoroughly until all ingredients are well mixed.
  3. Heat the Skillet: Place a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Add the vegetable oil and 1 tablespoon of the melted butter—allow it to heat until shimmering.
  4. Cook the Pork Chops: Carefully place the seasoned pork chops in the hot skillet. Do not move them for 3-4 minutes; this will help develop a beautiful golden brown crust. Flip and repeat on the other side for another 3-4 minutes until cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 145°F.
  5. Add Garlic and Sauce: Push the pork chops to one side of the skillet. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the empty side and let it melt. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 10 seconds until fragrant and starting to turn light brown.
  6. Combine and Reduce: Pour the Honey Sauce into the skillet, stirring occasionally. Let it cook until thicker and rich amber color, approximately 3-4 minutes.
  7. Finish and Serve: Spoon the sauce over the pork chops. Turn off the heat and garnish with chopped Italian parsley. Serve immediately for the best taste.

Notes

For best results, ensure pork chops are at room temperature before cooking. You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different flavor.
