Description
A quick and flavorful marinade that elevates meats with the vibrant flavors of Greece.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar (or lemon juice)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional for smoky flavor)
- Zest of 1 lemon (optional for extra zest)
Instructions
- Combine ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, oregano, salt, black pepper, paprika, and lemon zest until well combined (about 1-2 minutes).
- Marinate proteins: Pour over your choice of meat (chicken, pork, lamb). Ensure each piece is well coated. Let it sit for at least 5 minutes, or longer for more flavor.
- Cook your protein: Grill or bake the marinated meat. For chicken, aim for 375°F and cook for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway. For pork or lamb, grill for 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through.
- Check doneness: Use a meat thermometer to ensure your protein has reached the desired internal temperature (165°F for chicken, 145°F for pork).
- Serve: Enjoy your dish immediately, garnished with fresh herbs or lemon slices for an added flair.
Notes
For best results, use high-quality extra virgin olive oil and let the marinade sit to deepen flavors.
