Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until well mixed.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Serve warm, either plain or with powdered sugar. For a twist, add chocolate chips or lemon zest to the batter.
