Description
A classic banana bread recipe that’s simple to make, moist, and packed with flavor, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt.
- Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Finally, mix in the flour until just incorporated. If using, fold in the walnuts.
- Pour the batter into a buttered loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Great with butter or alongside tea or coffee. Store wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
