Ingredients
- Large pasta shells
- Ground beef or turkey
- Taco seasoning
- Salsa
- Diced tomatoes
- Cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- Sour cream (optional for serving)
- Green onions (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the large pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the taco seasoning, salsa, and diced tomatoes to the meat. Stir and let simmer for a few minutes until heated through.
- Stuff each pasta shell with the taco meat mixture.
- Place the stuffed shells in a baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve warm, garnished with sour cream and green onions if desired.
Notes
For added spice, mix in chopped jalapeños into the meat mixture. You can also substitute beans or lentils for a vegetarian version.
