Description

A flavor-packed twist on classic meatloaf featuring juicy ground beef, crispy bacon, earthy mushrooms, and rich Swiss cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred for juiciness)
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced and sautéed
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or use a loaf pan.
  2. Cook bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside. Sauté mushrooms in the bacon fat until browned.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Gently mix in half of the shredded Swiss cheese.
  5. Shape mixture into a loaf on the baking sheet. Press the rest of the cheese, mushrooms, and bacon on top.
  6. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Experiment with different cheeses or vegetables.
