A comforting casserole combining ground beef, creamy sour cream, and soft egg noodles, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 12 oz egg noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion for about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Combine the drained egg noodles, browned beef and onion, sour cream, shredded cheese, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Fold in the mixed vegetables if using.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch casserole dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and lightly browned on top.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
You can use other types of cheese for added flavor, and substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
