Description

A comforting casserole combining ground beef, creamy sour cream, and soft egg noodles, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion for about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  4. Combine the drained egg noodles, browned beef and onion, sour cream, shredded cheese, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Fold in the mixed vegetables if using.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch casserole dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and lightly browned on top.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can use other types of cheese for added flavor, and substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
