Quick and flavorful smash burgers with a crispy crust and juicy interior, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ lb 80/20 Ground Beef
- 1 Large Yellow Onion (optional)
- ¼ cup Avocado Oil
- Salt and Pepper
- 4 Hamburger Buns
- 8 slices American Cheese (optional)
- ½ cup Mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- ¼ cup Barbecue Sauce
- 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Sriracha
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and Sriracha to make the burger sauce. Stir well and set aside.
- Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and add the avocado oil.
- Form the ground beef into 4 equal balls and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the beef balls in the hot skillet and use a sturdy spatula to smash each flat. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges are crispy.
- If using onions, add thin slices around the burgers now.
- Flip the burgers, add a slice of American cheese on top, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Toast the hamburger buns in the skillet until golden brown.
- Spread the burger sauce on the bottom half of each bun, place the cooked burgers on top, and add any additional toppings. Close with the top half of the bun.
