Instructions
- Preheat a griddle or skillet over high heat.
- Form ground beef into loose balls (about 4-6 ounces each) and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the balls on the hot griddle and smash them down with a spatula to create a thin patty.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until a caramelized crust forms, then flip and cook for an additional minute.
- If desired, add cheese on top and let it melt.
- Toast the burger buns on the griddle until golden brown.
- Assemble the burger by spreading mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the buns, adding lettuce, tomato, and onion.
- Place the cooked patty on the bun and serve immediately.
