Juicy and flavorful Smash Burger with a unique twist of homemade baconnaise, perfect for gatherings or a weekend treat!
Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef (80/20 fat ratio)
- 4 burger buns (preferably brioche)
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 100 g bacon, crispy fried and crumbled
- 200 g mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Fry the bacon in a pan over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels and cool.
- Crumble the bacon into small pieces.
- Mix mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl.
- Add crumbled bacon to the mayonnaise mixture and stir until combined. Chill in the fridge.
- Season ground beef with salt and pepper in a large bowl. Divide into four equal portions and shape into loose balls.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Place beef balls in the pan, leaving space between them.
- Smash the balls down to about 1.5 cm thick with a spatula. Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned.
- Flip burgers, place cheese on top, cover, and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove burgers from the pan to rest.
- Meanwhile, slice burger buns and toast the insides until golden brown.
- Spread baconnaise on the bottoms of the toasted buns. Place the burgers on top, then add chopped onions.
- Spread baconnaise on the top halves and close the burgers. Serve immediately.
Notes
Choose high-quality ground beef for better flavor. Allow baconnaise to chill for at least 30 minutes for optimal taste. Customize with different cheeses or spices.
