Description

Juicy and flavorful Smash Burger with a unique twist of homemade baconnaise, perfect for gatherings or a weekend treat!

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef (80/20 fat ratio)
  • 4 burger buns (preferably brioche)
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 100 g bacon, crispy fried and crumbled
  • 200 g mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Fry the bacon in a pan over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels and cool.
  2. Crumble the bacon into small pieces.
  3. Mix mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl.
  4. Add crumbled bacon to the mayonnaise mixture and stir until combined. Chill in the fridge.
  5. Season ground beef with salt and pepper in a large bowl. Divide into four equal portions and shape into loose balls.
  6. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Place beef balls in the pan, leaving space between them.
  7. Smash the balls down to about 1.5 cm thick with a spatula. Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  8. Flip burgers, place cheese on top, cover, and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Remove burgers from the pan to rest.
  10. Meanwhile, slice burger buns and toast the insides until golden brown.
  11. Spread baconnaise on the bottoms of the toasted buns. Place the burgers on top, then add chopped onions.
  12. Spread baconnaise on the top halves and close the burgers. Serve immediately.

Notes

Choose high-quality ground beef for better flavor. Allow baconnaise to chill for at least 30 minutes for optimal taste. Customize with different cheeses or spices.
