Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 slices of cheese
- 4 burger buns
- Smash burger sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickles)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce, tomato, onion, and other preferred toppings
Instructions
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Form the ground beef into 8 equal balls (about 2 ounces each).
- Place two balls on the grill or skillet and smash them down with a spatula to form thin patties.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes, then flip the patties, add cheese on top, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the buns, adding smash burger sauce, and layering with your favorite toppings.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, use fresh ground beef with some fat content for juiciness. Experiment with toppings and sauces to customize your burger.
