Description

A tender and juicy slow-cooked whole chicken that’s perfect for busy days.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • Fresh herbs (e.g., rosemary, thyme)


Instructions

  1. Season the whole chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. Place the halved lemon inside the cavity of the chicken.
  3. If using, add fresh herbs inside the cavity.
  4. Place the chicken in the slow cooker, breast side up.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes (6-8 hours) or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  6. Carefully remove the chicken and serve.

Notes

For crispy skin, broil the chicken in the oven for a few minutes after slow cooking. You can customize the flavor with different herbs and spices.
