Description

Delightful red velvet cookies topped with chocolate kisses, perfect for holidays and celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 7 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp red food coloring gel
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup red sanding sugar
  • 18 Hershey chocolate kisses


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until smooth.
  3. Add the egg yolk, vanilla, and red food coloring, mixing until combined.
  4. Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, mixing just until the flour mixture disappears.
  5. Scoop out 18 equally sized cookie dough balls and roll them in your hands.
  6. Roll the cookie balls in the red sanding sugar.
  7. Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
  8. Press a chocolate kiss in the center of each cookie as soon as they come out of the oven.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for up to 7 days.
