Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • Powdered sugar for rolling


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  6. Roll the dough into balls, then roll them in powdered sugar until well-coated.
  7. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set.
  9. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
