Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until combined, then add eggs, food coloring, and vanilla.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, then dollop the cream cheese mixture on top.
- Spoon the remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake layer and swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool before slicing into bars and serving.
