A delicious blend of buttery croissants, eggs, and cheese, perfect for busy mornings.
Ingredients
- 6 large croissants, torn into pieces
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1/2 cup diced ham or cooked sausage (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Grease a baking dish and place the croissant pieces evenly in the dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and any optional ingredients like vanilla or cinnamon.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissant pieces, pressing down to ensure the croissants are soaked.
- Sprinkle cheese, ham or sausage, and green onions over the top.
- Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
- The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the casserole covered for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the egg is set.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm, add hot sauce or sour cream for extra flavor. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
