Description

A simple and delicious banana bread recipe that uses overripe bananas for a moist and comforting treat.

Ingredients

  • 3 large bananas (or 4 small bananas)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl using a fork or potato masher.
  3. Add the melted butter and whisk until combined.
  4. Mix in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, whisking again.
  5. Add the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt, folding gently with a spatula.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness. Don’t overmix to keep the bread tender. Consider adding nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
