A simple and delicious banana bread recipe that uses overripe bananas for a moist and comforting treat.
Ingredients
- 3 large bananas (or 4 small bananas)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl using a fork or potato masher.
- Add the melted butter and whisk until combined.
- Mix in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, whisking again.
- Add the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt, folding gently with a spatula.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
- Bake at 350°F for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness. Don’t overmix to keep the bread tender. Consider adding nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
