Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
- Slowly add the flour, mixing until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
- If using, fold in the sour cream and walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Ensure your bananas are very ripe for extra sweetness. Avoid overmixing for a light texture. Add chocolate chips or dried fruits for extra flavor.
