Description

A delightful, moist banana bread perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert, utilizing ripe bananas to create a comforting homemade dish.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  3. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
  5. Slowly add the flour, mixing until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
  6. If using, fold in the sour cream and walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure your bananas are very ripe for extra sweetness. Avoid overmixing for a light texture. Add chocolate chips or dried fruits for extra flavor.
