Description
Deliciously crispy chicken served in warm, flaky biscuits drizzled with sweet and spicy hot honey sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1 cup buttermilk (for marinating)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1-2 teaspoons hot sauce (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in buttermilk until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently and roll out to a 1-inch thickness. Cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes until golden.
- Marinate chicken in 1 cup of buttermilk. Then, season with paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- For the hot honey sauce, mix honey and hot sauce in a small saucepan over low heat until warm.
- Assemble the dish by placing fried chicken between biscuits and drizzling with hot honey. Serve warm.
Notes
Use cold butter for flakier biscuits and adjust hot sauce in the honey to taste.
