These enchanting red velvet cookies topped with chocolate kisses are perfect for any special occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- Hershey’s Kisses chocolate, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are set.
- Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie after removing from the oven.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, you can substitute the almond extract with more vanilla extract.
