Description

These enchanting red velvet cookies topped with chocolate kisses are perfect for any special occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • Hershey’s Kisses chocolate, unwrapped


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are set.
  8. Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie after removing from the oven.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, you can substitute the almond extract with more vanilla extract.
