Delicious heart shaped chocolate chip cookies perfect for special occasions or to show someone you care.
Ingredients
- 1 cup salted butter at room temperature
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped chocolate
- Maldon sea salt for sprinkling on top
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla, and mix until combined.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients while mixing on low.
- Stir in chocolate chips and chopped chocolate until evenly distributed.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill for 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Portion out the dough using a medium cookie scoop, shape each into a heart, and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
