Description

A quick and comforting dish featuring crispy chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce and gooey mozzarella, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Place the coated chicken in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. In the final 3 minutes of cooking, spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Continue cooking until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For gluten-free, substitute breadcrumbs with gluten-free options or almond flour. Fresh basil is optional but adds great flavor.
