Description

An indulgent dish featuring steak, creamy cheese, and tender tortellini, perfect for cozy dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 20 oz cheese tortellini (Fresh or refrigerated varieties yield the best texture and taste.)
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
  • Parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking the tortellini according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear it for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove the steak and let it rest before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
  4. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  6. Add the Parmesan cheese gradually, stirring until it melts and the sauce becomes creamy.
  7. Mix in the cooked tortellini and sliced steak, tossing everything together to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with parsley and red pepper flakes, if using.

Notes

Use fresh tortellini for the best flavor and texture. Don’t overcook the steak; it should be juicy and tender. Adjust garlic and spices according to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add more milk or cream.
