A delightful loaf that combines the flavors of cinnamon sugar donuts with the ease of quick bread, perfect for breakfast or snacks.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Whisk together the flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Mix the softened butter, egg, milk, and vanilla in another bowl until smooth.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix gently until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Mix the 1/4 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon for the coating.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Brush the top of the bread with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
Best served warm for maximum flavor. Can be enjoyed plain or with spreads.
