Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 3 cups chocolate chips or assorted candies
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
- Beat in vanilla and eggs until well blended.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
- Stir in chocolate chips or candies.
- Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
- Bake for about 9 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, try almond or coconut flour. Chilling the dough before baking can enhance flavor and texture.
