Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups chocolate chips or assorted candies


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  4. Beat in vanilla and eggs until well blended.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips or candies.
  7. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
  8. Bake for about 9 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, try almond or coconut flour. Chilling the dough before baking can enhance flavor and texture.
