Description

A delightful twist on classic banana bread, combining ripe bananas and rich chocolate chips for a moist and flavorful treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 3 medium/large ripe bananas, about 1 3/4 cups mashed
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter and flour a bread loaf pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar in a mixing bowl with a paddle attachment.
  3. Add the lightly beaten eggs to the mixture.
  4. Mash the bananas and add them to the mixing bowl along with the vanilla extract. Mix until blended.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the mixing bowl and mix until incorporated.
  7. Fold in 3/4 cup of chocolate chips, then transfer the batter to the prepared bread pan.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips over the top.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the banana bread rest for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor. Do not overmix to avoid dense bread. Customize with nuts if desired.
