A flavorful Middle Eastern dish featuring tender chicken marinated with spices and served with a creamy garlic sauce in pita bread.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- Lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers for serving
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- To make the garlic sauce, mix yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl.
- Serve the chicken in pita bread with lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers, drizzled with the garlic sauce.
Notes
Marinate chicken longer for more flavor and grill for a smoky taste. Store chicken and sauce separately in the refrigerator.
