Description

A flavorful Middle Eastern dish featuring tender chicken marinated with spices and served with a creamy garlic sauce in pita bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • Lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers for serving
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. To make the garlic sauce, mix yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl.
  4. Serve the chicken in pita bread with lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers, drizzled with the garlic sauce.

Notes

Marinate chicken longer for more flavor and grill for a smoky taste. Store chicken and sauce separately in the refrigerator.
