Description

A delightful twist on classic banana bread, these soft and chewy cookies are packed with rich banana flavor and topped with creamy frosting.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, browned
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the mashed bananas, brown sugar, and browned butter. Mix well.
  3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add this mixture to the banana mixture until combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  7. While cookies cool, prepare the frosting by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
  8. Frost the cooled cookies with the cream cheese frosting. Enjoy!

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor. Make sure the butter is browned but not burned to add richness.
